Our Experiences

We are moving! We are thrilled to announce that we have bought the llamas their very own smallholding in glorious North Devon and will be moving them there at the end of June 2025.

The smallholding is easily accessed from the A39, just a mile from Exmoor and ten miles from Barnstaple. There are plenty of lovely places to stay nearby, from an award-winning 4* boutique hotel around half a mile away to a friendly camp-site on an organic smallholding right next door!

From 1st July 2025 all our experiences will take place at the llamas’ new home - full directions will be e-mailed to you at the time of booking.

Create your own Exclusive Experience!

The experiences below are all bespoke - you can create your own unique experience from a selection of interactive activities, and we won't ask you to join in with anybody else's experience *

(*excludes gift agency bookings - these experiences need to comply with the agencies' agreed format).

In order to make our exclusive experiences viable we do need each one to have at least two participants. All experiences start with an introduction to the llamas and instruction on how to handle them.

First, choose and book the type of experience you'd like, and then on the day you can choose which activities you'd like to make up your experience. Our llamas specialise in helping anyone a bit nervous of big animals feel comfortable and relaxed around them.

Family/group rates are available for all our experiences - please contact us with details of your family or group and we'll work out a good rate for you all.

Our Experiences

1) Meet & Greet Experience

A very gentle experience of around 45 minutes to an hour where you'll get to meet and interact with our friendly llamas, learn some interesting things about them and even grab a "llama selfie!" You can also choose to do some grooming or clicker training, or maybe take your chosen llama for a short amble to find their favourite hedgerow snacks. Finish off your experience by giving your llama a bowl of their favourite treats! This experience normally starts at either 11 am or 2.30 pm but we can be flexible with start times if required. Cost: £50 for two, extra person/s £20 . . . . . . . . . *Gift vouchers available

2) Activity Session & Amble

A slightly more active experience of around one and a half hours including a choice of grooming, clicker training and llama "agility" (in the very loosest sense of the word!) as well as an amble with your chosen llama to find their favourite hedgerow snacks (this may include some uphill walking) before returning to the llama barn to give your llama a bowl of their favourite treats!

This experience normally starts at either 10.30 am or 2.30 pm but we can be flexible with start times if required.

Cost: £70 for two, extra person/s £30 . . . . . . . . .. *Gift vouchers available

3) Morning Llama Keeper Experience

Spend around three and a half hours (including a short stop for elevenses) really getting to know our lovely llamas. Prepare their breakfasts, feed them, groom them and then have a go at some llama agility (in the very loosest sense of the word!) and/or clicker training before stopping for some tea/coffee and biscuits in the llama lookout gazebo - and then finish the morning with an amble with your chosen llama friend to find their favourite hedgerow snacks (this may include some uphill walking).

This experience normally starts at 9.30 am.

*This experience is not available on Sundays*

Cost: £140 for two, extra person/s £60 . . . . . . . . . *Gift vouchers available

4) Husbandry Experience

This experience of around two hours has been developed specifically for anybody thinking of keeping camelids or wishing to know a bit more about the day-to-day practicalities of looking after these unique animals. We'll look at the type and amount of concentrate feed and forage we feed our llamas as well as the gentle handling and training techniques we use. We'll also cover grooming, the choice and correct fitting of halters, gentle haltering and ways of working with nervous or previously unhandled llamas.

This experience normally starts at either 10.30 am or 2.30 pm.

Cost: £80 for two, extra person/s £35

We regret that our walks and experiences are not suitable for:

Post experience refreshments

If you’d like to follow your experience with refreshments or a light lunch, we can highly recommend Otterton Mill, set beside the river Otter in the picturesque village of Otterton, or the Clock Tower Café in Sidmouth’s iconic coastal Connaught Gardens.

Otterton Mill is famous for its award-winning cream teas while the Clock Tower Café is well known for serving huge portions of delicious cakes – so take your pick, or maybe even visit both!

These super cafes are both situated just a mile and a half from us (in opposite directions!

Bed and Breakfast

Traditional Bed and Breakfast accommodation can be arranged at the farm, where a warm welcome and hearty breakfast is assured. Again, it is worth booking well in advance, particularly in the summer months.
