Our gorgeous George is a real cutie and is one of our four rescue llamas. He was born on 5th July 2011 and came to us with his half-brother Harry in January 2013 after the British Llama Society rescued them from a hapless breeder who had been keeping far too many llamas on a limited area of land, without enough food for them all. Because of this George was quite ill through having a high worm burden when he first arrived with us, but thanks to our excellent vet he thankfully made a full recovery.
George isn't as naughty as Harry but does enjoy getting up to mischief with his brother (particularly stealing brushes and dismantling the tractor!) and being very inquisitive he also likes to climb up the hedge to keep an eye on who is coming down the drive!
He is particularly good at llama agility and enjoys his walks. He likes to lead the way so that he is the first one to notice anything interesting or any tasty snacks in the hedges along the way. He does also like the occasional sit down - especially if there is some nice comfy long grass to relax in!
George has now joined Harry as a Therapy Llama, visiting nursing homes, day centres and schools for children with additional needs. He is very calm and likes to make himself comfortable in the sitting rooms, often lying down so that the residents make a fuss of him.
